Humboldt Bible Church CoVid-19 Statement

What CoVid-19 has certainly shown us is that we have very little control over our world.  It has shown us that a virus can cripple economies , close businesses, shut down sports teams, services, and community groups.  It has shown that it can confine people to their homes, cause relational tension, limit interaction all the while fuelling fear and confusion through a constant barrage of information and opinions, which are sometimes conflicting.  What makes us think that we are actually in control of anything?

What I know for certain is that we know the one who is in control.  This is not to say that we are naive or fatalistic but that we can trust God who does not change.  "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever" (Hebrew 13:8).  Our world may change in a day or an hour, and in fact it has, but knowing Christ brings hope in the unknown and security in times of fear.
"So that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us.  We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf..." (Hebrews 6: 18 - 20)
So be encouraged that the God we put our faith in has not changed!

We have a responsibility to our community to minimize group gatherings in conjunction with government mandates and our desire to keep people safe.  So, until further notice we will suspend all services and public gatherings at the Humboldt Bible Church.    The situation will be reviewed by the Board of Elders on an on-going basis and do our best tocommunicate with you as we move through the next number of weeks.

For the next number of weeks, we will endeavour to make content available to help foster your faith through Bible study, prayer (personal and corporate), worship, and in love and service of others.  The teaching content will be brought to you by Pastor Sean, including continuing the Revelation sermon series.  Links will be made available on the website, Facebook page and email to video files and weekly content.  Be patient as we navigate this!

We see this as a unique opportunity to engage our own families each other in a new way.  We are not discouraged.  We are excited to see just how the Lord might use His church in a changing world.  We encourage you to reach out to your brothers and sisters in Christ and your neighbours to see how you can pray for and meet the needs of each other - all it takes is a phone, a text, or an email.
